When composing a new message using Outlook Web Access, you have the option to click the To… button and select a contact from the list provided. By default, Outlook Web Access is configured to search the Global Address List (GAL). Apparatus does not allow a user to search the Global Address List, so most individuals prefer to change this default behavior so that Outlook Web Access will search their personal contacts by default.

Perform the following steps if you wish to change the default option:

  1. Open Internet Explorer and go to https://exchange.apparatus.net.
  2. Click the Options button/area in the left-hand navigation.
  3. Scroll down in the right window pane and locate the section entitled Contact Options.
  4. Select the Contacts radio button and click Save and Close along the top navigation to complete the change.

Now you should see “Contacts” in the drop-down box by default when you click the To: button to search for names during message composition.
