This Privacy Policy covers our collection, use and disclosure of information we collect through our website (www.apparatus.net), and through our management platforms. It also describes the choices available to you regarding the use of, your access to, and how to update and correct your personal information. The use of information collected through our service shall be limited to the purpose of providing the service for which the Client has engaged Apparatus. We do not share your personal information other than as outlined in this Privacy Policy.​

Safe Harbor

Apparatus complies with the U.S. – Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal data from Switzerland.  Apparatus has certified that it adheres to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. EU-U.S. Privacy Shield 

Apparatus participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.  Apparatus is committed to subjecting all personal data received from European Union (EU) member countries, in reliance on the Privacy Shield Framework, to the Framework’s applicable Principles.  To learn more about the Privacy Shield Framework, visit the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Privacy Shield List. Apparatus is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives, under the Privacy Shield Framework, and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf.  Apparatus complies with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU, including the onward transfer liability provisions.

With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Framework, Apparatus is subject to the regulatory enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.  In certain situations, Apparatus may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Client Websites (Apparatus Management Platform)

Apparatus collects information under the direction of its Clients, and has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. If you are a customer of one of our Clients and would no longer like to be contacted by one of our Clients that use our service, please contact the Client that you interact with directly. 

Sub-Processors/Onward Transfer

Apparatus may transfer Personal Information to companies that help us provide our service, such as hosting providers. Transfers to these third parties are covered by the provisions in this Policy regarding notice and choice and the service agreements with our Clients.

Access to Data Controlled by our Clients

Apparatus has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct his query to the Apparatus Client (the data controller). If the Client makes a request of  Apparatus to remove the data, we will respond to their request within 30 business days.

Client Portal

Managed Services Clients have access to a Client Portal which provides the ability to enter and track status of service requests. In order to provide support, we will collect additional information as needed such as alternate email address, phone, pager and fax number; Apparatus will retain the information for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide services.​

Data Retention

Apparatus will retain personal data we process on behalf of our Clients for as long as needed to provide services to our Client. Apparatus will retain and use this Personal Information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Apparatus is committed to the "Enforcement" of Safe Harbor principles through verification, dispute resolution and remedy. We will engage in an annual self-assessment to ensure that our Privacy Policy remains current and aligned with Safe Harbor principles, is consistently practiced, and prominently displayed on the company website.

The Apparatus Website

Apparatus is the sole owner of the information collected on apparatus.net and the client portal​. Apparatus collects personal information from our users at several different points on our website.

Client Service

Based upon the personal information you provide us such as name and email address, we will communicate with you in response to your inquiries and service requests. We may contact you for general business communications. If you choose to apply for a job opportunity, we will collect additional information from you such as your address and phone number. If you are in the European Union, we will adhere to the Onward Transfer principle if the need arises to disclose your information to a third party.

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy.  We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Technologies such as cookies or similar technologies are used by Apparatus and for analytics related to our website. These technologies are used in analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies on an individual as well as aggregated basis. We use Google Analytics which utilizes cookies based on their privacy policy​. Our SharePoint content management system also uses cookies based on user authentication, but will still set cookies for anonymous users to manage things like screen settings. We currently use no other cookies to track any information from our visitors on apparatus.net.

Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some features or areas of our site may be limited.

Log Files

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data.

We do not link this automatically collected data to other information we collect about you.

Local Storage (HTML5)

We may use Local Storage (LS) such as HTML5 to store content information and preferences. Third parties with whom we partner to provide certain features on our site based upon your Web browsing activity use LS such as HTML 5 to collect and store information.

Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5.


We provide you the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having your personal information used for certain purposes when we ask for this information. You will be notified when your personal information is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider, so you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

This website contains links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by Apparatus. Please be aware that we, Apparatus, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy policy of each and every website that collects personally information. This privacy policy applies only to information collected by this website.

Social Media Widgets

Our Web site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button [and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our site]. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.
